Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton took their relationship to the next level when they recorded the duet, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" and performed it live during Sunday's (May 22) Billboard Music Awards. The couple met on "The Voice," have only been together for 7 months, but based on the bedroom eyes they were giving each other while singing, it feels like the two have been in love for much, much longer.
The two have each been busy promoting their solo projects with Shelton releasing his 10th album "If I'm Honest" and Stefani dropping her first record in 10 years, "The Is What the Truth Feels Like." But the two came together to co-write and perform this single.
"I actually wrote that song, started it just to try to impress her, to be honest with you," Blake told Savannah Guthrie on Today, Thursday (May 19). "And I sent it to her just half done ... and she wrote the next verse and sent it back to me. And so it was like, oh, we've got a song together. That's kind of cool."
Stefani looked absolutely stunning in a floor length diamond encrusted dress, and it was adorable how Shelton mouthed along to the lyrics while she was singing. The two were clearly lost in their own world while performing their country duet, pretty much raising the bar for everyone's relationship goals everywhere.
