During Sunday's (May 1) second annual American Country Countdown Awards, 2014's Nash Icon took the stage to pass along the title to groundbreaking country duo Brooks and Dunn. It's been a while since fans have been treated to new music from the two men, but Reba McEntire's tribute to the duo acts as a great reminder of the group's talent.

To accept the award, Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks took to the stage to huge applause from the crowd. Humbled by the tribute, the singers admit McEntire did good by talking them into singing their old songs again.

While that's a fantastic notion, Books and Dunn continued to please the audience with a live performance of their classic hit, "Red Dirt Road." It's been 26 years since the duo debuted and by the looks of things, there is no sign that the two will be hanging up their hats anytime soon.
