With its auditions behind it, Season 11 of “America’s Got Talent” really got the ball rolling on Tuesday (July 12) when the judges began cutting down the roster. One act that proved they belonged in the competition was none other than Linkin’ Bridge. Originally impressing the judges in the auditions round with their unexpected a cappela performance of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” the group returned with one mission: to win.

This time, not only did they bring the a capella flavor … they did so with some added beat boxing flavor. Taking on a classic track like Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird” is never an easy task. Having talent is one thing, but choosing a karaoke favorite is always tough. But the group succeeds at breaking out of the song’s shadow by flipping the script completely.

It’s a safe bet that Linkin’ Bridge will remain in the competition for quite some time. Not only do they bring a flair and vibe all their own, their talent is really unquestioned. But will they go all the way? That remains to be seen.

“America’s Got Talent” continues on Wednesday, July 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
