Taylor Swift has won her very first Emmy award. The 25-year-old singer was awarded the Emmy for Original Interactive Program for her “AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience,” which allows viewers to explore the sets of her “Blank Space” video through the lens of a 360-degree camera. Swift is credited as an executive producer on the project.
That win puts Swift halfway toward becoming an EGOT winner — someone who is awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. With seven Grammys and now an Emmy to her name, all it takes is an Oscar and a Tony award to join the elite EGOT club that includes Scott Rudin, Whoopie Goldberg, Mel Brooks, James Earl Jones, Barbara Streisand and Audrey Hepburn, among others.
With so many years left in her career, Swift has plenty of time for a small turn on Broadway and one great song in a movie to get recognized by the Academy.
Her award was among a handful of others presented ahead of the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday (Sept. 12) and the 2015 Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 20. Other recipients include “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “@midnight,” which both won an Emmy for Social TV Experience.
