After an Arizona forest fire was swept up by a windstorm and turned into a massive inferno that led to 19 firefighters killed, many took to social media networks to send their condolences to those affected by the United States’ biggest loss of firefighters in a wildfire in 80 years.

“This is as dark a day as I can remember,” Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer says in a statement. “It may be days or longer before an investigation reveals how this tragedy occurred, but the essence we already know in our hearts: Fighting fires is dangerous work.”

Among those who took to Twitter was Denis Leary, who starred as a firefighter in the FX television series “Rescue Me.” The founder of Leary Firefighters Foundation and the Fund for New York’s Bravest, among other Hollywood celebrities, shared their thoughts for those affected by the tragedy:
