Country music, as a whole, has classed up their fashion act over the past several years. The 2012 CMA Awards were no exception, but a few lovely ladies’ looks simply did not pass red carpet muster.
Reba McEntire gets a bit of a pass because — well, she’s a legend and she can wear whatever she wants — but her blue sequined number was a bit dated. It looked like it would be more appropriate for a Reba drag impersonator in Las Vegas.
Miranda Lambert wore a beautiful flesh-tone bandage halter top style gown that was flowy and sheer below the waist. She lost points because we’re pretty sure this dress was worn by J-Lo in a past life, and it’s just not the right cut for her figure. Oh Miranda, we still love your spunk.
Faith Hill was a major bore in a matronly black tunic with puffy white sleeves. This could have been an early 90’s homecoming look — for a very conservative teen. Or perhaps an upcycled nun habit?
Speaking of teens, Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry rocked a get up that could have been pulled from the mannequin at a Nashville juniors store. Perry should have toned down the 80’s Madonna hair and toned up the glam factor. Kimberly’s too young and hot to not be dressing more modern. And for that, she was the night’s biggest fashion loser.
