NIT-2013-first-round-schedule.jpgIt’s March Madness time, but not all the great basketball teams in the country are taking part in the NCAA tournament. The NIT always boasts some strong contenders who didn’t quite make it into the field of 68.

Are you tuning in to cheer on the Virginia Cavaliers, Iowa Hawkeyes, Tennessee Volunteers or Arizona St. Sun Devils? The winners of the first round games, which are played March 19-20, will advance to the second round, taking place March 21-25.

Wednesday’s games:

Iowa vs. Indiana St., 7 p.m. ET, ESPN2
UMass vs. Stony Brook, 7 p.m. ET, WatchESPN
Providence vs. Charlotte, 7 p.m. ET, WatchESPN
Tennessee vs. Mercer, 8 p.m. ET, ESPNU
Baylor vs. Long Beach St., 9 p.m. ET, ESPN2
So. Miss vs. Charleston Southern, 9 p.m. ET, WatchESPN
Arizona St. vs. Detroit, 10 p.m. ET, ESPNU
