With a show like “30 Rock,” you’re most likely either in or out at this point.
I’m in the “in” camp, so I’m excited that the occasionally spotty but often screamingly funny comedy will be back on TV Thursday night, beginning its fourth season with an episode fittingly titled “The Fourth Season.” It finds Liz (Tina Fey) and Pete (Scott Adsit) sneaking around in an effort to keep the “TGS” staff in the dark about hiring a new cast member and Jack (Alec Baldwin) trying to squash an NBC page strike led by “apple-cheeked goon” Kenneth (Jack McBrayer).
The return of “30 Rock” is the capper to what’s been a pretty good start to the season for comedy on network TV. There are solid two-hour comedy blocks on three different networks on three nights of the week now (CBS Monday, ABC Wednesday and NBC Thursday) — and when was the last time we could say that?
Have a peek at the “30 Rock” season premiere, which hits your television at 9:30 p.m. ET Thursday on NBC.
