stephen collins suicide rumor false getty '7th Heaven' star Stephen Collins suicide rumor is false, says LAPDThere was an ABC7 report Tuesday (Oct. 7) that shots were fired at the home of Stephen Collins, the “7th Heaven” actor who is being investigated for allegedly committing inappropriate sexual acts with minors. Rumors of suicide were fueled by both the news story and tweets from “Baywatch” actress Donna D’Errico, claiming that Collins shot himself.

However, those rumors are untrue, an officer from the LAPD tells BuzzFeed’s Jon Passantino that Collins is “alive and well” and not at his home this evening, which TMZ corroborates. The officer also says that the ABC7 news crew in front of Collins’ home thought they heard loud noise coming from the residence, but when officers responded, they did not find anything.

D’Errico later wrote that all she knows is what her neighbors tell her and that she “hopes it’s a false alarm.”

In the wake of the allegations, Collins has been fired from the movie “Ted 2” and several networks have stopped airing “7th Heaven” reruns. There has been no public response from the actor as of yet.
