Connie-Britton.jpgUpfronts season is in full swing, and today, ABC made calls to the casts and creative teams behind several of its new pilots to congratulate them on joining the ABC fam. We’re particularly looking forward to seeing “Friday Night Lights” star Connie Britton in “Nashville,” a country-musical soap in which she’ll star alongside Hayden Panettiere.

In other country news, Reba McEntire will star in “Malibu Country,” who moves her family — including mom played by Lily Tomlin — to Malibu from Nashville.

ABC has additionally picked up “The Neighbors,” about a family who moves to New Jersey and finds out that their neighbors are aliens. Horror fans will enjoy “666 Park Avenue,” about a supernatural haunted apartment building — it stars, among others, “Brothers & Sisters'” Dave Annable and “One Tree Hill’s” Rob Buckley.

Execs are reportedly loving war drama “Last Resort,” starring Scott Speedman, about a group of soldiers who go rogue and declare themselves a sovereign nation after defying military orders.

Look for “Zero Hour,” a thriller about a magazine editor whose wife is kidnapped, and “Red Widow,” about a woman forced to take over for her criminal husband after he’s assassinated.
On the camera side, “How to Live With Your Parents For the Rest of Your Life” stars Sarah Chalke as a single mom who moves back in with her crazy parents. “Family Tools” stars J.K. Simmons and is about a father and son working together in a handyman business.
