Now that actress Heather Matarazzo‘s (“The Princess Diaries,” “Welcome to the Dollhouse”) home state of New York has become the sixth state to legalize same-sex marriage, she tells the AP that she plans to wed her longtime girlfriend Carolyn Murphy.
“My eyes and spirit have opened up since I found someone that I get to share my life with,” says Matarazzo.
And girlfriend Carolyn, a recording artist working on her first studio album, says that they didn’t want to rush right down to City Hall the first day the law took effect. They want a big wedding with all the trimmings, which will probably top 200 guests.
This wedding has been a long time coming, as they became engaged three years and were going to get married in California, but could not do it in time, as Proposition 8 once again barred same-sex marriage in California.
The couple is also ready to start a family. Matarazzo says they think Carolyn will have a child first, then Heather, then they’ll adopt. Heather herself is adopted.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
