Spending her maternity and much of baby Krishna’s life without addressing the issue of paternity, “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi now has to deal with her child’s father quite publicly.

Venture capitalist and Columbia Business School professor Adam Dell has filed court papers seeking more time with his daughter, something he’s claiming Lakshmi isn’t willing to accommodate.

People reports that, as of now, Dell is only permitted nine visits a month, none of them clocking in at any longer than three-and-a-half hours. Lakshmi’s extensive travel for her job apparently makes this even more difficult.

Lakshmi remains tight-lipped though a representative of hers did release a statement: “Ms. Lakshmi believes that family matters should be kept private. She asks that those who join her in
wanting the best for her daughter do the same. Twenty-four hours after
the NY Post was told about Adam Dell’s lawsuit, neither Padma
Lakshmi nor her lawyers had received a copy of it; they only learned of
it through a statement Mr. Dell provided to the press.”
