adam levine today getty Adam Levine vs. Fox News Anchors: The Twitter feud gets childishAnd now, for your absurd news of the day…

Maroon 5 frontman and “The Voice” mentor Adam Levine wasn’t too pleased to hear one of his band’s songs playing on Fox News, a channel known for its conservative leanings. On Wednesday, the singer tweeted, “Dear Fox News, don’t play our music on your evil f***ing channel ever again. Thank you.”

Well, as long as he’s keeping it polite!

The FOX News anchors didn’t take long to fire back. “Dear @AdamLevine, don’t make crappy f*cking music ever again. Thank you,” wrote Andy Levy. Later, he added, “Maroon 5’s bio strangely fails to note the band was developed by the CIA as part of its enhanced interrogation techniques program.”

And then there was this lovely video, in which the Fox News anchors say that Maroon 5 can be found under the iTunes category “crap” and that Levine always wears a cap because he’s balding. (His hair looks okay to us.)

Here’s the thing — rock stars are supposed to lash out unnecessarily. The public finds it charming. It’s what they do. News anchors, on the other hand, are expected to have a slightly higher standard of behavior.
