Adele‘s personal life has been the fodder for much speculation since her Grammy-winning albums have chronicled her tumultuous love life and heartbreak. Now a new unauthorized biography by Marc Shapiro is claiming to have more details about the mystery man who was the subject of her debut album.
In “Adele: The Biography” Shapiro writes that the album “19” chronicles the singer’s heartbreak when she made her romantic intentions known to a bisexual man and he then ran off with her close gay friend.
The UK’s Daily Mail has an excerpt:
“One thing we know… Is that it was a first love gone terribly bad. Adele had professed her love and he did the same, she had known he was
bisexual but, in the rush of romance, felt they could make it work. Four hours after laying their emotional cards on the table, the boy ran off with one of Adele’s gay friends!”
Shapiro also reportedly reveals Adele’s father’s struggle with alcoholism and the singer’s own turning to alcohol after her bisexual lover ran off.
“Adele: The Biography” is scheduled to hit bookstores on July 17.
