adele sept 2011 gi Adele on Karl Lagerfeld's 'fat' comments: 'I don't want to be some skinny mini'Adele has broken her silence about Karl Lagerfeld’s recent comments to Metro in which he called the singer “a little too fat.” And it turns out Adele doesn’t really care what the designer says.

“I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines,” she tells People magazine. “I represent the majority of women, and I’m very proud of that.”

Us Magazine is also reporting the singer tells “60 Minutes” in her Sunday (Feb. 12) interview, “I don’t want to be some skinny mini with my t*** out. I really don’t want to do it and I don’t want people confusing what it is that I’m about.”

Lagerfeld’s ill-conceived comments were quickly blasted by many. Some fans of the singer even threatened to boycott Chanel, the company for which Lagerfeld is creative director. He has since backtracked and said his words were taken out of context.

“I’d like to say to Adele that I am your biggest admirer. Sometimes when you take a sentence out of the article it changes the meaning of the thought,” Lagerfeld says.
