lsu vs alabama bcs title Alabama vs. LSU BCS Championship game: Will this boring title game lead to some BCS change?Monday night (Jan. 9), the Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the LSU Tigers to win the 2012 BCS Championship title. And nobody outside of Tuscaloosa really cares that much. Which is kind of fitting, since the 2011 season was rife with controversy, violations and the horrendous sexual molestation scandal at Penn State.

The championship game was a field-goal-kicking contest for Alabama, with just one touchdown being scored late in the game. With a missed extra point. We are incredibly curious to get the fast national ratings for this one. We can’t imagine they are very strong.

It was the first BCS title game that paired two teams from the same conference, which had a lot of writers, commentators and fans up in arms, since the teams had already played each other on November, where LSU won 9-6. So we guess since Alabama won this time around, it was the right call?

Though the Oklahoma State Cowboys probably don’t think so. And there will likely be some no. 1 votes cast for them in the final AP poll. Heck, LSU coach Les Miles said in his postgame press conference that he thinks his team should get some no. 1 votes.

We’ll repeat that: The losing championship game coach thinks his team should get some first place votes.

So is this the year there is finally an overhaul of how the BCS system works? We hope so. But we aren’t holding our breath.
