The police have arrested alleged Craigslist killer Philip Markoff and charged him with murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.

Markoff, who's been described as a clean-cut medical student, allegedly robbed and killed Julissa Brisman, a 26-year old woman who advertised exotic services on Craigslist, last Tuesday inside a Boston hotel. It's also alleged that Markoff attacked another female in a separate incident.

Police have said that they received an unprecedented amount of assistance in finding the suspect, and they thank the public, saying that they wished they had the level of cooperation in every homicide that they had in this one. Also, there may be more victims out there, police said.

A search of Markoff's house turned up guns and plastic ties, and police say the motive may have been to pay off gambling debts.

Now, this guy's fiance has come forward to defend him.

"Unfortunately, you were given wrong information as was the public," Megan McAllister wrote in an e-mail to ABC News.

"All I have to say to you is Philip is a beautiful person inside and out and could not hurt a fly! A police officer in Boston (or many) is trying to make big bucks by selling this false story to the TV stations. What else is new?? Philip is an intelligent man who is just trying to live his life so if you could leave us alone we would greatly appreciate it. We expect to marry in August and share a wonderful, meaningful life together."

What do you think? Is a police officer making big bucks by selling this false story about poor Philip?

Could Philip hurt a fly?

Does this story make you nervous about advertising anything on Craigslist?
