brendon rachel amazing race 'Amazing Race' premiere: Brendon Villegas, Rachel Reilly unleashed on the world“The Amazing Race” kicked off its 20th season in Santa Barbara, Calif., and headlining the cast are former “Big Brother” contestants Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly. They came right out of the chute with “Nobody comes between me and my million dollars.” Sigh.

The first challenge involved pulling down small hot air balloons until they found one of 11 clues, which sent them to Santa Barbara, Argentina. Once there, Rachel got to go skydiving and proclaimed herself “the luckiest person in the world.” We cannot argue with that, but we think we mean it differently than she does.

Brendon also decides he hates the men who work for the Border Patrol because he’s half Mexican.

Following the skydiving, the teams had to craft 120 empanadas, with two very different pinching techniques.  Brendon and Rachel were very good at it, which he surprisingly does not say is because he’s half Mexican.

At least B&R don’t win first place and therefore the Express Pass. That goes to Rachel and Dave, a married couple from Wisconsin. Brendon and Rachel end up in second.

The eliminated team turns out to be sisters Misa and Maiya, who actually arrived at the pitstop in second-to-last place and get beat because they can’t find Phil. They were, in fact, right by him and didn’t see him. *headsmack* But also – “Amazing Race” Darwinism at its finest.

What did you think of the 20th season premiere of “The Amazing Race”?
