amazing-spider-man-box-office.jpgThirty-five million isn’t a bad haul for a Tuesday. And that’s exactly what Sony is celebrating this July 4th as early estimates clock it’s latest superhero franchise reboot — “The Amazing Spider-Man” — at $35 million in ticket sales on July 3, a holiday eve that just happened to fall early in the week.

That’s the biggest Tuesday haul any movie has ever had, per The Wrap, and puts the movie on track to hit close to $160 million in its six-day holiday weekend.

The reboot stars Andrew Garfield in the title role and his real-life girlfriend, Emma Stone, as love interest Gwen Stacy. British actor Rhys Ifans plays Spidey’s nemesis, The Lizard.

Meanwhile, the Mark Wahlberg/teddy bear comedy “Ted” continued to draw viewers ($8.4 million Tuesday box office), along with “Brave” ($5.6 million) and strip-fest “Magic Mike” ($5.4 million).
