Just what TV needs — another singing competition! AMC is getting into the televised talent search business with a new reality series called “Road Show,” but naturally it’s got a twist.
Instead of a nationwide casting call for talent, the series will actually revolve around eight separate small-town talent shows and the hilarity that ensues when regular folks show off their talent. “Road Show” will visit eight cities to look for singers, dancers, comedians, jugglers and more for an “America’s Got Talent”-style variety show, selected by the show’s director and choreographer (who are also the judges and mentors).
In the end, the four acts who make the cut will perform at the local talent show, where the audience picks the winner.
Additionally, AMC has renewed reality series “Small Town Security” for another season. Both small-town-focused shows will premiere next summer.
