The fourth installment of “American Horror Story” is starting production, which means details are emerging about the latest iteration, subtitled “Freak Show” — and the first one is double the fun.
Actress Sarah Paulson tweeted the above photo Thursday (June 12), writing, “So excited to be playing Bette AND Dot this season. Two heads are better than one!”
Paulson also tells E! Online that her reaction to the role was one of shock. “It’s very exciting and totally nerve-wracking in the best way because
you think, ‘How the hell am I going to pull this off?!’ And as an actor,
I think that’s an exciting thing to feel,” says Paulson.
She also teases that “Freak Show” is going to be a hybrid between “Asylum” and “Coven,” all the freaky scares of “Asylum” coupled with the dark humor of “Coven.”
“There’s going to be a little bit of a richer and potentially darker tone the way ‘Asylum’ had, but with the humor infused from ‘Coven,'” teases Paulson, adding that creator Ryan Murphy has “thrown the ball at me in a really beautiful way. I worship at the altar of Ryan Murphy and I always will.”
“American Horror Story: Freak Show” premieres in October on FX.
