american horror story renewed season 4 'American Horror Story' renewed for Season 4 on FXFX has picked up a fourth season of its “American Horror Story” series, following strong ratings for the current incarnation of the show this fall.

The fourth “AHS” will premiere in 2014 and run 13 episodes. A title and premise for the new season, which like the others will feature a new, season-long story, hasn’t been announced yet. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk co-created and run the show.

“Put simply, Ryan Murphy is a master television producer,” FX Networks CEO John Landgraf says. “Time and time again he reinvents the form.”

The first three episodes of the current season, “Coven,” have averaged 7.7 million weekly viewers (including DVR use and on-air replays), with almost 5.5 million of them falling in the 18-49 demographic. Both figures are way above the previous two “AHS” installments, and “Coven” is also on track to become FX’s highest-rated show ever among adults 18-34.

“Coven” airs at 10 p.m. ET Wednesdays on FX.
