The cover of Archie’s upcoming memoir, “Chords of Strength,” which the Season 7 runner-up’s been busy working on and blogging about has been released on Amazon. Coincidentally, a single titled “She’s Not You” presumably from Archuleta’s next disc has also leaked on the net simultaneously.
Archuleta is clearly gearing up for a mini-media blitz in preparation for the book’s release in May, which just so happens to be the month that a certain FOX talent competition’s season finale airs. Can “American Idol” fans expect a return to the stage where just two seasons ago Archuleta was facing off with winner David Cook for the “American Idol” crown. We shall see.
]]>Tweeter Archuleta sent out his prayers via Twitter to the victims of Chile, where fellow former “Idol” contender Elliott Yamin was performing in the Vina del Mar International Song festival. Yamin was twittering as the devastating 8.8 magnitude quake hit just off the coast of the country. Subsequently, Yamin spoke live via phone on CNN, ABC News and the Today Show.
Meanwhile, Archuleta is also reconnecting with fans through a series of new video entries on his newly launched Weekend Blog, as previously reported by The Dish Rag. The singer’s been busy in February, traveling to Miami with mom Lupe to take part in the Spanish version of “We Are The World”. He was also spotted in Los Angeles for one of the opening night performances of “The Color Purple,” starring former Season 3 “Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino.
[UPDATE]: “She’s Not You” is not actually a new track that will be featured on Archie’s upcoming album. As it turns out it’s the third song he ever recorded over a year and half ago. The track was one of the 30 plus songs he recorded for the first album but it didn’t make the cut. Mystery solved.
Listen to David Archuleta — ‘She’s Not You’. The Dish Rag thinks it’s a catchy jam. What do you think?
