Chris-golightly-site-320.jpgChris Golightly is writing a book detailing the hardships of his life, including his disqualification from the “American Idol” Top 24.

According to American Idol Now, Golightly’s book is titled “Orphan” and contains “copies of legal documents detailing some of the horrors Chris experienced, as well as the official documents that allegedly will prove Chris should not have been disqualified from ‘American Idol.'”

Chris also tells AI now about his life being shuttled in and out of orphanages and foster homes, the horrific abuse he suffered, including being locked in a trunk for so long he drank his own urine for sustenance, and ultimately how he found God.

Zap2it briefly spoke with Golightly following his disqualification from “Idol.” He said he was “hurting pretty bad” and then become too distraught to continue.

“Orphan” is due out in the fall of 2010.
