Fantasia Barrino is going ahead with a set of TV appearances in the next couple of weeks, just shortly after she was hospitalized following a suicide attempt.
The Season 3 “American Idol” winner has a new album, “Back to Me,” hitting stores next week, and she’s planning to promote it via all the usual outlets, starting with a “Good Morning America” appearance on Tuesday, Aug. 24. But the timing of the release isn’t exactly ideal: Barrino has been in the news in the past week not for the record, but for being named in a divorce suit, allegations of a sex tape and being taken to a North Carolina hospital after overdosing on aspirin and sleeping pills.
