Lady Antebellum and “American Idol” fans got a treat in Los Angeles Thursday night (April 15).
“Idol” champ Kris Allen hit the Wiltern stage to open for Lady Antebellum and even stuck around to sing with the group.
Allen first did some his own songs, but was invited back for the Beatles classic “Hey Jude.”
“Thanks @ladyantebellum for asking me to come sing on Hey Jude last night,” Allen tweeted.
It’s not the first time Lady Antebellum has been associated with “American Idol.” The group also performed “Need You Now” to a thrilled audience at an “Idol” taping Wednesday night.

Allen also rocked out another Beatles tune, “Come Together.” No, he didn’t bust out a didgeridoo like Crystal Bowersox did, but it’s still pretty good.
He also did “Can’t Stay Away.” The sound on this clip isn’t the best, but he shows off his typical Kris Allen energy.
It was announced Thursday that Allen signed a publishing deal with Universal Music Group. This includes his self-titled album and future works. He’s in good company. Other “Idol”-UMG signees include David Cook, Chris Daughtry and Jason Castro.
