kris allen allison iraheta 'American Idol' Kris Allen: New single 'The Truth,' coming to 'Oprah' with Allison IrahetaSony Music has announced that “American Idol” winner Kris Allen‘s second single off his debut album is the revamped version of “The Truth” that includes vocals by Train frontman Pat Monahan. The release date is Monday, May 3, 2010.

You can listen to a live streaming of this new version of the song on Kris Allen’s official website. There are 12 pages of comments on the live stream post so far and the majority of them seem to prefer the original version that features Kris only. What do you guys think?

Kris has also been busy with his fellow “Idol” finalist Allison Iraheta. He attended her 18th birthday party earlier this week (pictured above with fellow “Idol” finalist David Cook) and then tweeted Tuesday, April 27: “Just got done cookin up a duet with the bday girl @AllisonIraheta for the Oprah taping were doing. You
guys are in for a treat.”

That is exciting indeed! We wonder what they’ll be singing for their appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” MJ’s Big Blog is hearing that Kris and Allison will be on “Oprah” Friday, April 30 to support “No Phone Zone Day,” which is Oprah’s special episode devoted to ending distracted driving.

Our girl Allison has been everywhere lately! Coming to “Oprah” with Kris, going on tour with Adam Lambert this summer. Busy girl! We’ll post more information on the “Oprah” appearance when we have it.
