In San Antonio, Papa Peachez came into the “American Idol” auditions proclaiming that he’s not just “a cute, little white boy.”
“I’m so much more than that. I’m really just a big black woman trapped in a little boy’s body,” says Peachez.
He sang an original piece that was definitely weird — he doesn’t like covers, you see. But he obviously has some vocal ability, which gave the judges pause.
Nicki Minaj loved him, saying, “I think that you are a superstar, loved the song. Loved that you wrote it. Loved that it’s only something Papa Peachez could sing.”
Mariah Carey also liked Peachez, though not as much — “I see you as being a quirky kind of artist … it’s a small yes.”
But Keith Urban and Randy Jackson were not sold. Randy said if he could actually get serious, maybe he’d have something, but initially they both voted no. However, after some begging from Nicki, Ranyd put him through.
What do you think, “Idol” fans? Should Papa Peachez have advanced to Hollywood?
