For his judges’ choice song during the “American Idol” Top 3 performances, Scotty McCreery was given Kenny Rogers‘ 1979 hit “She Believes In Me.” We thought it was one of Scotty’s best performances in the competition.

That doesn’t mean it was perfect. The chorus had a few high notes that Scotty couldn’t quiiiite reach, though the judges commented about how great it was that he just went for it on the big stuff. But the verse and the quiet ending were really lovely.

What did you think? Did Scotty sing his way into the finals next week? We think it’s been a bit of a foregone conclusion he’d be there for awhile now, but this was definitely the right song to end his night with.
