Despite having arguably the most talented Top 5 the show has ever seen, “American Idol” earned historically low ratings for its 12th season. Now the annual summer tour is feeling the pinch as well — nine dates have been canceled.
19 Entertainment, the company that produces the singing competition show, has announced that the tour is down to 31 stops from 40 and the tour will now begin July 19 instead of June 29.
The canceled venues include Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Sprint Center in Kansas City, Target Center in Minneapolis, Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, BOK Center in Tulsa, 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo., Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. and The Oracle Arena in Oakland.
The July 6 performance at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL has been rescheduled for Aug. 12 in Trenton, NJ, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
