todrick hall american idol 'American Idol': Todrick Hall needs to rein in the schtickTodrick Hall wowed the judges with his original song on “American Idol” — all except for Simon (and Zap2it).

Hall performed an original song about “Idol,” name-dropping the judges and basically begging them to pick him. We were not fans and neither was Simon.

Todrick can obviously sing but we almost wanted him to get rejected just because of his ridiculous audition piece. He could’ve really done a nice job on, for example, “If I Ever Fall in Love” by Shai (which another auditionee slaughtered), but instead he had to get his “funny” schtick all over the place. Yuck.

We hope to see him in Hollywood, singing actual songs. And we think it’s neat he was in “The Color Purple” with Fantasia.
