It’s down to all women on “American Idol” — who will be the first one to leave the Top 10? By all accounts, it should be Janelle Arthur, but we have a sneaking suspicion it’ll be Amber Holcomb. Let’s find out!
But first — a medley of Donna Summer hits. Woo, disco! “She Works Hard for the Money” is particularly fun. Love these ladies as performers.
And then — Paula’s there! OMG, Paula Abdul! That’s a really fun surprise, it’s so nice to see how touched she is to be there. Love it.
Now we have Clay Aiken. We must tell you, our mom was just obsessed with him and she made us go see him at the Iowa State Fair once. True story. Anyway, he’s still got some chops on “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” though his pronunciation kind of grates.
Fantasia is there to perform. We’ll say, we’ve never really liked the tone of her voice. Sorry, fans. She’s got a powerful instrument, but her tone has just always rubbed us the wrong way.
Finally some results — Candice Glover, Angie Miller and Amber Holcomb are safe, making Kree Harrison and Janelle Arthur the Bottom 2. Huh. Color us surprised.
So will the judges have to use the save on Kree? ‘Cause we feel like they will if she’s the one who’s in danger.
But Janelle is the one who is leaving and the save is not used on her, despite her “Keep Me Hangin’ On,” which was definitely her best performance of the season.
It’s weird — it’s almost like there’s something wrong because America is getting it so right this year. Bizarre.
What do you think, “Idol” fans? Did the right one go home?
