idol top 8 results 'American Idol' Top 8 results: DeAndre Brackensick, Elise Testone or Hollie Cavanagh, who went home? For the Top 8 results show on “American Idol,” the Idols were brought center stage in their duet pairings. Jessica and Joshua are first, and naturally, they are both safe. Colton and Skylar are next and we would argue Colton could’ve been Bottom 3. Jimmy’s comments post-game were spot on – Colton just wasn’t that good last night.

Hollie and DeAndre are also brought down and they should both be in danger, they were pretty weak. And thank you, Jimmy Iovine, for talking some sense to the judges – they were wrong. DeAndre is not great! Not even close! The judges get all riled up about Iovine’s comments, but J.Lo is deaf. DeAndre is not “amazing.”

Predictably, Hollie and DeAndre are in danger and Colton and Skylar are safe. Which will leave Elise to round out the Bottom 3, because there is no way Phillip Phillips is in danger. Not with a smile that cute. And that’s what happens.

Seacrest immediately sends Hollie back to safety, which means Elise is going home. We would be absolutely floored if it’s the other way around. And then it is! Knock us over with a feather. There’s no way the judges use the save – what if Jessica suddenly has a bad week and goes home next week seventh, just like Pia did? There’s no way.

The judges don’t save him, though J.Lo admits she is insane by saying she voted to save him and the other two judges didn’t.

Alright, Elise. Let this be a lesson and don’t choke again. Also, the way this show has been so boy-favoring in the voting the last five or so seasons, we’re pretty shocked that at this point there are more females left than males.

What do you think, “Idol” fans?
