usher getty 'American Idol': Usher to mentor, check out the song list and our picksWhat should the “American Idol” Top 10 sing for the R&B/Soul week? Make your picks here.

Even though Usher kinda spilled the “Idol” mentoring beans over the weekend, it was officially announced during the Wednesday, March 24 results show that he would be mentoring the Top 10 for R&B/Soul week.

We love that R&B/Soul reaches way back into Motown because some of the non-Michael Lynche singers need some oldies thrown in there.

    * You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me – The Miracles

Here are what we think they should sing.

Crystal: Bring It On Home to Me
We think Crystal should lay the guitar down and just really impress us with her vocals. This slow Sam Cooke number could show them off nicely.

Aaron: You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me
Aaron was a hard one to choose, but this Smokey Robinson classic would let him do all the runs and riffs he is capable of doing

Lee: Georgia on My Mind
At the Top 12 party, Lee told us that he dabbles on the piano. We think he should dabble his way right into this beautiful Ray Charles ballad. It would show a softer, sexier side of Lee and really give him an edge.

Andrew: I Want You Back
Andrew could do this one of two ways. He could perform the upbeat original and probably have a lot of fun with it. Or he could do the acoustic guitar thing and change it up in an attempt to recapture his “Straight Up” moment.

Siobhan: Midnight Train to Georgia
She’s already tackled Aretha, so why not go for Gladys Knight now? Siobhan has shown off her lower register smoky beautiful tone, which would suit the verses of this song to a T. Then she could blow it up on the chorus. And she could leave out the screaming because this song doesn’t need it. Win-win.

Casey: Mustang Sally

More rockin’ guitar from Casey plus can’t you just hear his growly voice on this Wilson Pickett classic? Us too.

Tim: My Prerogative
We think Tim should just embrace his trainwrecky side and bop around like it’s 1988, especially if he could get an old hourglass-shaped suit like Bobby Brown used to wear.

Michael: September
Michael loves nothing more than bopping around while other people do their sing-outs. He’s a big dancer at heart. We would love to see him tackle this upbeat Earth, Wind and Fire song. He’s shown he has the falsetto chops to handle the chorus, it could be a really explosive week for him.

Didi: Cruisin’
Didi is tricky because she has such an unusual voice. But Gwyneth Paltrow covered this in that karaoke movie “Duets” and it was really great, Didi should shoot for that, especially if she could work her guitar into the mix.

Katie: Saving All My Love For You

Katie has never been as good as her initial audition of “At Last.” The judges want her younger but she doesn’t have a young voice. At all. Even her Corinna Bailey Rae and Fergie songs haven’t captured her initial audition greatness. We would love to see her come out and just kill a Whitney song and maybe shut the judges up a little. This song would let her show off her pipes and maybe get a little sexy.

What do you guys think? Agree with our choices?
