For “American Idol’s” Top 5, the theme was “Now and Then.” For Scotty McCreery‘s contemporary number, he chose a boot-stompin’ tune called “Gone” by Montgomery Gentry. What did you think?

It may not have been as technically good as some of his other ones, but Scotty was finally working the stage as a showman. It was a little awkward, a little dorky at parts, but that’s really just part of his charm.

The judges were delighted, J.Lo could not stop laughing (in a good way) and Randy said it was like they were at Scotty’s concert. Tyler said Scotty’s usually such a Puritan, but tonight he saw him “dance with the Devil.” What did you think?
