“America’s Got Talent” truly put their best foot forward Tuesday (June 11), opening the show with one of the night’s best performers. Travis Pratt took the stage to sing, but the judges were blown away when they found out his song selection.
Pratt stunned the judges and audience both when he unleashed a powerful opera voice, even hitting incredible high notes seemingly with ease. After such a performance, there was no way he could be denied. He gave all of the credit to his girlfriend, who convinced him to try out for the show. When Howie Mandel asked the girlfriend onto the stage, it didn’t take long before Travis got down on one knee to propose in front of the crowd. Of course, she accepted as Nick Cannon faked crying backstage.

Travis wasn’t the only operatic singer of the night, though. Jonathan Allen was another young man with a powerful voice. His story started a bit sadder, as he says his parents kicked him out of the house at 18, upon learning he was gay. Jonathan hopes getting on the show will make them proud of him.
His performance of Andrea Bocelli’s “Time to Say Goodbye” should be enough to make anyone, anywhere proud.

Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
