candace-ANTM.jpgCandace Smith is the latest girl eliminated from “America’s Next Top Model.” She tells Zap2it that she was pretty surprised she went home and what her favorite challenge was (which was a bit surprising).

Are you glad you did “America’s Next Top Model”?

“I’m definitely glad I did this show. It gave me a stepping stone on my modeling career. I don’t regret it all.

Were you a little surprised when you were the one who went home?

“Oh, yeah. I was so shocked when I went home. Honestly, it was the beginning of the competition and I felt that I needed more of a chance to prove myself being on the show. It was very surprising to me that I got eliminated early on in the competition.”

Do you think the judges should’ve taken Kyle wanting to go home into consideration more?

“Oh yeah, definitely. I wish they would have given that more consideration. And also the fact that I’ve auditioned for the show for four years and I actually wanted it in my heart, to win. And the simple fact that Kyle just wanted to go home, I thought it was unfair, you know? But hey.”

What was your favorite challenge of the show?

“I would probably say the eating challenge. It united everyone, we had a good time. I really didn’t participate in it, because Seymone pretty much ate everything, so it was easy. I would definitely say the food challenge was the best competition.”

Have you kept in touch with any of the girls?

“After the show, definitely, me, Kyle, Mariah kept in contact. I talk to Azmarie now and then, also Laura and some of the girls from UK. We’re all in contact with one another, we’re always talking on Facebook and Twitter, emailing, texting. It’s great.”

So the U.K./U.S. rivalry wasn’t quite as major as the show is making it out to be?

“Honestly, probably not. I would say more so with the photoshoots and the challenges, but other than that, we were all having a good time and just having fun. Eating Chinese food late at night, hanging out in the jacuzzi. For the most part, we all got along.”

What’s next for you?

“I’m still modeling, going to castings, photoshoots. This is honestly just the beginning of my career, so I’m going to continue forth with that. No matter what happens, I’m going to continue to model.”

“America’s Next Top Model” airs Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the CW.
