Amy Poehler will soon be in front of the largest audience that’s ever seen her on TV.
Poehler will star in a Super Bowl ad for electronics retailer Best Buy that’s set to air during the first quarter of Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 million people will be watching, which is about five times as many people who watched her co-host the Golden Globes, and about 25 times the audience for the average episode of her NBC show “Parks and Recreation.”
“Amy Poehler’s Golden Globe performance left us all wanting to see more of her,” says Scott Durchslag, Best Buy’s head of marketing. “We are thrilled to feature her in our commercial this year and bring the public another dose of her unparalleled humor. We know people have high expectations for these ads, and Amy delivers a whole new dimension of entertainment.”
Based on the prompter in the background of the photo above, it looks like Poehler will be peppering a Best Buy employee with questions about how to make technology work for her.
Best Buy, which has been struggling financially in the past year, is running its third straight Super Bowl ad. The game will air Feb. 3 on CBS.
