anderson cooper package christopher dornan cop killer gi Anderson Cooper receives package from ex Los Angeles cop and murder suspect, Christopher Dorner

The bizarre case of the former LA cop-turned-suspected cop killer has just gotten stranger. CNN newsman Anderson Cooper is reporting that he received a package from Christopher Dorner.

Cooper reported the news himself via his Twitter feed:

“Learned today suspect Christopher Dorner sent me a parcel at CNN. Inside was a note, DVD, and a coin shot thru with bullet holes.”

He elaborated on this while talking with Wolf Blitzer on “The Situation Room” on Thursday (Feb. 7). “Apparently, the package arrived on the 1st of February,” Cooper explained. “It was not opened by me. I did not know of its existence until today. Inside the package was a hand-labeled DVD with a yellow Post-It Note, reading, in part, quote, ‘I never lied,’ apparently in reference to his dismissal from the LAPD in 2008.”

Anderson Cooper never actually saw the package and was not informed of its arrival for almost a week.

Christopher Dorner is suspected in three homicides — one current Los Angeles police officer, plus the daughter of a retired LAPD officer and her fiance. The man, a former member of the Los Angeles police force himself, has apparently declared war on the department. He wrote an 11-page manifesto, vowing to “bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform whether on or off duty.”

Police throughout southern California have been involved in the search for Dorner.
In the manifesto, Dorner praised a few members of the media — including Ellen DeGeneres, Charlie Sheen, Hillary Clinton and former President George H.W. Bush — as being beneficial to the country and his cause. Another name mentioned was Anderson Cooper — perhaps explaining why this particular newsman got the gift.
