Thursday’s (July 5) episode brought in 3.37 million viewers, a 38 percent drop from its series premiere on June 28. (A second episode that night drew 5.7 million people.) The decline among adults 18-49 was similar — the show fell 35 percent from 2.65 million viewers in the demographic to 1.71 million.
Nonetheless, those numbers are at the high end of the comedy scale for FX. Last week’s premieres of “Wilfred” and “Louie,” for instance, delivered 2.5 million and 1.4 million total viewers.
Through three episodes, “Anger Management” is averaging about 4.9 million viewers (not including DVR viewing). If the show hits certain ratings goals during its 10-episode run this summer, it will trigger a 90-episode pickup that will make it syndication-ready.
