“Angry Birds” just got a little friendlier (and funnier).
Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Tony Hale, Ike Barinholtz, Hannibal Buress, Keegan-Michael Key, Cristela Alonzo, Jillian Bell, Danielle Brooks and a handful of “Saturday Night Live” stars — Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph and Kate McKinnon — have all been cast in “Angry Birds,” reports The Hollywood Reporter. (Now that’s a lineup.)
According to Variety, the upcoming film, which is based on the mobile game of the same name, will feature Sudeikis as Red, the head of the Flock, Gad as Chuck, McBride as the Bomb, Hader as a pig, Rudolph as a character named Matilda and Dinklage as the Mighty Eagle.
“I’m extremely proud of this cast,” says producer John Cohen in a statement. “These are some of the funniest people out there today, and we’re thrilled to have them all on board.”
“Angry Birds” will open in theaters on July 1, 2016.
