The 28-year-old actress, next seen in the adaption of David Nicholls‘ “One Day,” graces the cover of August’s Harpers Bazaar — and inside she’s still talking about the Feb. 27 award show, particularly the comments she received from co-host James Franco.
“I let James know that a whirling dervish is a more flattering
comparison than a Tasmanian devil,” she says. “I called him, and we e-mailed a bit.”
She’s referring to Franco’s interview on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” in which he tried to explain his stoner-esque performance, saying, “I love her, but Anne Hathaway is so energetic, I think the Tasmanian Devil would look stoned standing next to Anne Hathaway.”
But just as she puts Franco’s comments in perspective, she does the same with the entire experience.
“In the grand scheme of things, I got to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” says Hathaway. “I met great people, wore beautiful clothes. And I got to put on a show. I don’t see a downside. Anyone who disliked my personality probably disliked my personality before the Oscars.”
