Anne Hathaway might have found her recently photographed wardrobe malfunction “devastating,” but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t risen above it. No, the “Les Miserables” star has opted to go the high route and shame the photographer who sold the photo that revealed her lack of underwear underwear for what we can only assume was a whole lot of money.

“It was obviously an unfortunate incident,” she tells Matt Lauer on “Today.” “It kind of made me sad on two accounts. One was that I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment and rather than delete it, and do the decent thing, sells it.And I’m sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality of unwilling participants, which brings us back to ‘Les Mis,’ that’s what my character is, she is someone who is forced to sell sex to benefit her child because she has nothing and there’s no social safety net.”

Talk about a great job bringing everything full circle. One might almost think that the whole thing was planned ahead of time, but somehow it doesn’t seem likely that Hathaway would intentionally want a photograph of her lady parts circulating the Internet until the end of time. At least she’s hopefully learned the real lesson here: Just wear underwear.
