veterans day 2010 getty Applebee's, Hooters, Subway, more offer Veterans Day restaurant specialsNov. 11 is Veterans Day and several national restaurant chains are offering specials for veterans and their families this year. Veterans will be be required to show proof of service in the form of an ID card.


  • Applebee’s – Veterans and active-duty service personnel can eat free at any Applebee’s in the U.S. The free meal choices are 7 oz House Sirloin Steak, Chicken Tenders, Bacon Cheeseburger, Double Crunch shrimp, Three-Cheese Chicken Penne, Fiesta Lime Chicken, and the Oriental Chicken Salad.
  • Chili’s — Like Applebee’s, veterans are eligible for a free meal out of a choice of six dishes at participating Chili’s restaurants.
  • Golden Corral — The 10th annual Military Appreciation dinner will be held on Monday, Nov. 15, from 5 to 9 p.m. in all Golden Corral Restaurants.
  • Hooters — With the purchase of a drink, veterans eat free at Hooters.
  • Krispy Kreme – Veterans are eligible for a free doughnut at select Krispy Kreme locations.
  • Subway — Veterans are eligible for a free 6-inch sub sandwich at select Subways.
  • T.G.I. Friday’s – Veterans are eligible for a free entree when they buy another at full price. The special is available from Nov. 11 to 14.
