arnold palmer tiger woods Arnold Palmer hospitalized; Tiger Woods' first PGA victory in over 2 yearsThe Arnold Palmer Invitational was not short on drama Sunday (March 25), as the tournament’s namesake was taken to the hospital, while Tiger Woods earned his first professional golf victory in 30 months, reports the AP.

Golf legend Arnold Palmer (pictured above, at the Invitational’s media conference on Saturday, March 24) was taken to the hospital Sunday due to high blood pressure, though Palmer’s longtime business manager Alaistair Johnston says it is nothing to worry about and merely a precaution.

“Nobody is overly concerned about the prognosis,” says Johnston. “[The high blood pressure] wasn’t anything to do with any ailments or any discomfort he felt. The blood pressure was at a level where the doctor
involved suggested that he go immediately to get more intensive
evaluation at the hospital.”

Meanwhile, it caused Palmer to miss the trophy presentation at his own tournament, which was notable this year because fallen-from-grace golfer Tiger Woods won his first PGA event since the BMW Championship in September 2009, two months before his infidelity scandal broke.
