If you’re like us, you’re just getting used to the weird almost-headache caused by 3D glasses at the movie theater. Well, get ready to have a whole new sense overwhelmed when you go see “Spy Kids 4: All The Time in the World” — your sense of smell.
Yep. 3D isn’t enough for those crazy kids, so director Robert Rodriguez plans to use Aromascope technology to allow audiences to smell the movie, too. The film, which stars Jessica Alba and Joel McHale as the new Spy Kid parents, will be released on August 19.
Essentially, you’ll pick up a rub-and-sniff card, Smell-O-Vision style, with 8 different scents. Throughout the movie, numbers will appear on-screen instructing you to rub the coordinating part of the card and get a whiff of whatever’s going on on screen. We hope it’s pleasant.
