With production beginning on the “Arrow” spinoff, “The Flash,” it’s time to jump the gun and start wondering about how the two shows will relate when both are on the air. Will characters travel between Starling City and Central City? Will main characters Oliver Queen and Barry Allen visit some more?

A recent interview with “Arrow” showrunner Marc Guggenheim made it clear that the writers of both shows are keeping the possibilities of crossovers in mind.

That said, it’s not likely that the two shows would meet much to begin with. “Everything is always on the table,” Guggenheim tells Collider. “But we also all collectively feel like ‘The Flash’ needs to stand on its own two feet, now that it’s gotten its launch from ‘Arrow.'”

If crossovers aren’t likely right away, when might they come? “We trust our instincts to know when is the right time,” Guggenheim says. “When the time is right, it will happen. … There are a bunch of things that have to happen before we can cross-pollinating shows.”

Sooner or later, it seems, “Arrow” and “The Flash” will meet again — assuming, of course, the pilot for the new series makes it to air next fall on The CW.
