The man arrested at LAX yesterday after the shooting death of rapper Dolla has been booked for murder, TMZ is reporting.
TMZ and L.A. Now name the suspect as Aubrey Louis Berry, 23, of Georgia. He was arrested Monday afternoon and is being held on $1-million bail.
According to L.A. Now, the 21-year-old, Atlanta-based rapper Dolla, real name Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot in the head around 3 p.m. while he and another rapper, D.J. Shabbazz, waited at valet parking at the popular Beverly Center mall.
Two hours later, Los Angeles police detained a “person of interest” as he attempted to board a plane out of LAX. The man allegedly drove his silver Mercedes SUV from Beverly Center to the airport.
The shooting occurred just after 3 p.m. at the La Cienega Boulevard entrance of Beverly Center.
All exits and entrances were sealed off when police arrived en masse, sent after a report of a group fight, possibly involving a knife.
TMZ says that two other "persons of interest" — allegedly with Berry at the time of the shooting — are being questioned.
