Austin Peralta, the son of legendary skateboarder Stacy Peralta, has died at the age of 22.
The Los Angeles Times reports Austin’s death was confirmed by Flying Lotus, who has released some of the jazz prodigy’s music.
Austin was most recently a session musician for Erykah Badu and the Cinematic Orchestra, but he made a splash on the music scene at the age of 15 when he played piano as part of a trio at the Tokyo Jazz Festival.
Peralta subsequently released two CD’s at the age of 16 under the CBS/Sony label in Japan. His most recent release was 2011’s “Endless Planets.”
Austin’s cause of death has not yet been announced.
