juan pablo galavis bachelor gay comments 'Bachelor' Juan Pablo Galavis: A gay bachelor 'too hard to watch,' not good for kids“Bachelor” Juan Pablo Galavis made some controversial remarks Friday night (Jan. 17) during the ABC party at the 2014 TCA press tour, when The TV Page asked him about a possible gay or bisexual bachelor.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea for kids to watch that on TV. … I respect that 100 percent but people have their husband and wife and have kids and that’s how we’re brought up. … You have to respect everyone’s desires opinions and ways of living, but it would be too hard for TV.”

He goes on to make some rather incoherent remarks about gay people having kids and possibly sleeping in the same bed as their children, but English is not his first language and it’s hard to understand what Galavis means. But he ends the interview by saying that gay people are more perverse than straight people, which is rich considering he’s on a show where he dates 27 women at once.

“There’s this thing about gay people it seems to me, you know, I don’t know if I’m mistaken or not, I have a lot of friends like that, but they’re more pervert in a sense. To me the show would be too strong, too hard to watch on TV,” finishes Galavis.

The ABC reality dating show “The Bachelor” and sister show “The Bachelorette” have taken some heat in recent years for their lack of diversity in casting — and in what ABC says is just a coincidence, suddenly more minorities began appearing on the programs.

Do you think the next logical step is a gay bachelor or bachelorette? Would you tune in?

UPDATE: Juan Pablo has apologized for his remarks and ABC has issued a statement.
